“The best thing since sliced bread” - it may be a well used catchphrase, but it’s how Alicja Kay, managing director of Hawk Electronics describes the IR 550 rework station recently purchased from Blundell Production Equipment.
“We had been placing BGA’s, QFN’s and DFN’s for some time, but when it came to rework we were struggling” says Alicja. “The high cost of contracting out rework and the resulting lack of control over it, spurred us on to investigate the rework equipment market.”
“Talking to various contacts in the industry, I soon realized that the ERSA range of rework stations are the most widely used by electronic assembly companies, and that’s always a good start”.
After an in house demonstration, Hawk Electronics went on to buy an IR550 and, six months on, Alicja is absolutely convinced that she made the right choice. “The solid design, clever technology and attention to detail is obvious from the moment you start using it.”
