Andover-based electronics manufacture and design
company, Custom Interconnect Ltd (CIL), has
installed the 100th lead-free compatible Blundell
CMS 400 wave soldering machine to be supplied in the
UK. The new machine complements the existing
selective soldering machine that has provided CIL with
lead-free capability for the past four years.
Paul Blundell, managing director of machine
manufacturer, Blundell Production Equipment, comments: “Since last year’s RoHS legislation, there has been a boom
in sales of new wave soldering machines.
The UK
manufactured CMS 400 has clearly established itself as the
UK leader and the lead free version has been selling very
well over the past two years, as more and more PCB
assemblers convert their soldering process to lead free.”
